About
A writer of quiet, slightly tilted fiction — and, to be clear, a fictional one.
Cassian Cole writes literary and speculative fiction — stories about memory, distance, and the odd machinery of ordinary lives, usually with one small impossible thing at their center. The work tends toward the melancholy and the hopeful at once, which is, perhaps, just how it feels to be a person paying attention.
Cassian writes at night, keeps too many notebooks, and believes the best stories are the ones that make the ordinary world look briefly, usefully strange. When not writing, there is coffee, long walks with no destination, and the collecting of overheard sentences.
A note on this site
Cassian Cole is a fictional author persona — a creative-writing project and literary brand. The biography, the books and the details are imaginative fiction, presented as an author showcase. Nothing here is a factual account of a real individual.
